hi,
I kinda left the forums bc i rolled my mx-3 rallying...
But i just picked up a 89 probe gt 2.2l turbo. first off i know the turbo is gone bc the oil feed line is ripped off and clamped. But it has everything there and hooked up. My question is should i replace the turbo completely or try to rebuild? the car starts up and runs great. but theres no pull after like 3k(where the turbo should be kicking in)
The car sounds really muffled.
let me know what you think i should do
~also the tach and boost gauge arn't working?
Interesting turbo question

Re: Interesting turbo question
well, I would go to a wreckers and get a new turbo for that b----.
the boost gauge isn't working obviously because the turbo isn't working
but I am sure you knew that.....although, it should read vacuum.....hmm, probably not hooked up.
that tach on the other hand I don't know.
but ya. I have seen people do that to turbo cars before. It makes them run like slugs.
have fun when you get it working right

Re: Interesting turbo question
I'll come out and say this will be my first turbo car. I have done the whole n/a thing. If i go pick up a turbo from the wreckers do i just bolt it on plug it all in and go? or do i need a boost controller or anything else?

Re: Interesting turbo question
ya, I think the factory ecu in your case will take care of most stuff...
I would have someone nearby to make sure you hook everything up right..
