Re: I.M. Chat?
Didn't this forum used to have a built in chat that no one used? Is it possible to get that back and actually use it?

Re: I.M. Chat?
Why doesn't everyone just talk on AIM , I think YIM And MSN messenger , and all the other ones stink. Maybe it's just because AIM is a thing of my generation , and everyone I know has it , I just find it one of the most convenient ways to contact people .

Re: I.M. Chat?
I use a multi-client instant messenger program, miranda IM.
It's super small and nice and simple... Keeps my yahoo, msn, and aim friends all in a tiny program. Sure it doesn't have fancy features that preteens learn to love, like bump, or nudge, or that wierd "ding dong" crap you can do, or no snowman in the background, but for goodness' sakes, I use it for chatting with people!
and unfortunately all my friends seem to be all on a different client.
Trillian is also a more easy to use program, but I like the simplicity and the speed of miranda IM

Re: I.M. Chat?
I back up SuperK on this one. I havent tried this "miranda IM" but if its simple like trillian, then it has my vote.
SuperK, does this miranda program also support ICQ and other oldschool IMs as well?
sorry to hijack, I'm just lazy right now and don't feel like looking this up.

Re: I.M. Chat?
Miranda is the most customizable IM I know of.
This is good and bad. This means, you can pretty much do anything with it.
It can have gadu-gadu, jabber, icq, irc, yahoo, msn, aim, and if there is anything else, it's got it.
I only have it set up to aim and msn, though.
here's a picture of how it looks on my setup, super simplicity:

I do as well.tehbrookzorz wrote:I've got a group on my MSN called "MX-3"... Oh man...
I used to use ICQ before everyone moved over to MSN, not MSN is the only thing I use, but with MSN, you can also add Yahoo contacts. I don't bother with AIM, I hate it.
