I am in the exact same situation.
Any good at body work?? lol
Fairing the sunroof into the existing roof by cutting a hole and "flange welding" it in would require serious blocking out to blend such a flat panel. the other option would be remove the glass and cut along the pillars, which would still mean serious body work and a new paint job.
That's my take on it anyway. I'm gonna pass.
If anyone has more info, or wants mine cut out, let me know!!

You can remove the whole roof panel and install the one from another MX3. I've got complete genuine Bodyshop manual, so I can take pictures of welding points and how to weld the complete roof panel on your car, it's better than cutting hole to your existing roof, simply because you must also weld small panels around the sunroof, which you don't actually have on your old roof. :)

If anyone wants to try it and document it for mx-3.com I have a roof I'll donate if feasible to ship it.

Don't be idiots, take that shat to a body shop with both roofs and let them do it correctly... You can and should take the whole roof panel and interior from a sunroof car and swap it over if that is what you want. However, depending on how much your MX is worth to you it is likely better tp just but a MX with a sunroof and fix it up...

We're not idiots, we're just talking about possibilities of installing sunroof in the car which didn't come with it. :) Every skillful person could swap roof panels, imho.

Here are pictures with welding points of the roof.. Removal and installation, plus evidence both pictures are taken from genuine bodyshop manual. :) Enjoy.

I would also like to see the rest of that book. I have to say though, that I would be EXTREMELY hesitant to try to replace the roof of my car myself. It would just be soooo easy for a job like that to come out not very good.

Sure it could be done, but that's definitely not a backyard mechanic type job IMHO.
