Tail light fuse

This forum is for discussion of topics relating to MX-3 lighting such as Headlights, Tail lights, Accessory Lights, Interior Lights, Etc. For example, Rear Euro Altezza Style Tail lights, Headlight units, LED's, HID's, Bulbs, Interior lights, Neons, Strobes, Auxillary Lights/Fogs or anything filament and gas discharge related.
Also anything dealing with the elctrical system.

Tail light fuse

My tail lights don't work,neither do the signals or the brake lights,The tailight fuse blows as soon as I turn the headlights on,Is this a problem with the headlight switch or maybe a relay,Any help is greatly appreciated

also check the fuse under the hood - I believe it is a 100amp green fuse? not for sure but it also controls the brake/tails/signals IIRC...

Does it happen when you just turn the parklights on, and not necessarily the headlights?

Have you installed an aftermarket radio lately?

If you answered yes to both of these questions, you likely used the vehicle's dimmer wire as a ground for your deck.

Otherwise, it's very probable that one of your bulbs has blown and one of the filaments has shorted out. A good method in that case is to remove bulbs, put a new fuse in, and re-insert bulbs until the fuse blows again.
