After having my car stolen & totaled, my neigbor gave me a 94 mx3 & said if I can get it running I can have it for free. Car was running worse & worse till 1 day it just wouldn't start. (this is where I get the car) The car won't start (no spark) & I can't find any haynes manuals on this car localy (Cincinnati) The chiltons import book I have gives no details on symptoms/diagnosis. (yes, I'm lost without a book) I'm thinking it could be the distributor (but not sure) & found that there are 2 types. 1 has a .526 diameter rotocam & the other has a .475. The info I got off of the car doesn't help much either as I can't find anything to compare my findings too. So I'll post what I know & hope some guru saint will help fill in some blanks.(like what I have & what needs to be done)
1994 mx3 no other badges (gt, es, rs)
dohc 16v 4, 97.5 cubic inch, 1600cc, 1.6L (hp?)
engine = ce04d16 (sticker on pass side door jam)
engine family=rtk1.6jgfea (hood sticker)
model spec=ea77-naa (pass door)
vehicle line= ce3
sticker on the distributor reads as follows=
Mitsubishi
B6BF
T2T57371
any info/tips/help is greatly needed
Thanks, Mike in Cincinnati

Re: new mx3 owner in a state of confusion
This is the distributor you need.
I would say that's your first culprit. If it is a spark issue, I would work from the spark plugs and pinpoint the problem. Change plugs, change wires, then change the distributor.
You might also want to check the HEI mod in the FAQ and here in the forums as it might be something that will be worth doing.

Stablo87 - It's an automatic trany, I wish it was a stick
Superk - new plugs & wires, so I 'm thinking distributor. unless there is a spark control module. Which I don't know if this car has anything like that. (no book)
Lowflyinmx3 - Thanks for the offer. If I can't figure this out in the next week or so I'll take you up on that, I'm in Norwood.
