V6 Swap with too much gas
V6 Swap with too much gas
Hi, I swap my 1.6 4 cyl for a 1.8 v6, I finally got it to run yesterday but this morning, don't wanna start, it turn over but nothing, when I remove a spark plug and try to start it, it blow the fuel out and when I stop the starter I can see the fuel dripping on the piston, I checked my PRC Valve hoses and they seem ok, any suggestions for me please...
Another thing, my fuel is kinda old, its been in the car since last January, when the 4 cyl died, can it be the problem or only a factor?

OK I kept the gas in th car (maybe a mistake) I added a bottle of cleanflow to remove the water in the tank and the day after I added a good 5 gallons of Super...
And still, it will start do a couple turns and then die, if i retry right away nothing, if I wait a 30 to 45 seconds, it will start again for a couple turns and then die again...
I'm baffled....

My MX3 sat behind my house for 2 years. Turned it on a few times.
Never had a problem. I highly doubt it was bad gas

well even iff your gas in your tank didnt have a high octane rating it should start.
But it wouldnt hurt to put a jerry can of 91 in your tank. BTW there is a drain hole in our cars so its pretty easy to drain the tank.

ya If your tank is original the mx3's and 323's gas tanks are identical and they both have drain plugs. Just make sure that you change the drain plug washer with a new one. And also spray some rockerguard on the drain hole so that it doesnt rust in the futurte.
