mx-3 Rockcrawler

Post by mx-3_rockcrawler »

Hi all.! :D I'm new here.....

Thought some may get a kick out of what I did starting w/ an mx-3. I made a rockcrawler! Drivetrain is a 94 1.6l & auto trans going to a couple of transfercases and then to Chevy Blazer axles. Most people who see it think I'm crazy, but it's served me well for ~2 years of offroading. The mid-engine layout makes for great weight balance offroad.

Sweet!!! man thats gotta be a blast.... every year couple friends and I go into the Pit race at home.. run anything aslong as its gotta roll bar and you have helmets... Its fun as hell.. we usually end up buying a cheap ford ranger or jeep 4x4... cut the exhaust off to the manifold, gut the inside, weld in some tubing for roll cage... and giver....

its fun man.. I always wanted to go in one of thouse rockcrawlers ... love watching "Trucks" on speed when there building thoughs things.. crazy..

"offroad edition".... I like that...

Thanks for the positive comments. Here's an old shot of the engine in the cradle. The cradle mounts mid-ship in the frame.

I like it :2thumbsup: , I'm surprised, that little 1.6l provides you plenty of power/torque for what you do?

It does not provide enuf POWER....!..... by any means. But it does provided enuf torque because all the gears stacked up provides a 210:1 crawl ratio...!

It won't win any drag races, but it'll go over anything you point it at...
