Stoooopid question about the interior...

Okay, while I have done some searching and have NOT looked into the owners manual, I have a question about the "push" button on the door panel...WTF does it do? All I have been able to guess is some form of an anti-static discharge thing (since it simply goes to a metal strip inside the door panel that mates up against the door). Like I said, a stooopid question. But, one that has been bugging me.

P.S. Yes, I am FINALLY getting around to putting the 92 back together and YES it will be for sale again, though the price will be more firm once it is said and done

Yes, its to get rid of static when exiting the car.
