Help SuperK Pick out some colors!

Post by SuperK »

It's almost time for me to start painting the engine bay,
so some suggestions would be great!

Rules: no more than 3 colors!
Has to match car color and all the little filters and wires.

Tranny/block/head/manifold/fuel rail/CAI intake all to be painted

It's all primed (high temp primer, of course), just a little sanding and it's good to go to the rattle can shop. Duplicolor FTW!

I've already been suggested dark blue/black/cast aluminum.
Any other suggestions? :D

I think a combo of blue/black/Chrome would be killer

those are the ever so crappy genie headers. they did not have a egr hookup.

However, any shop you take the car to get the headers installed, they will install a threaded grommit on the side of the headers free of charge for the egr.

however, the egr threads on our cars are a bit odd sized, and the shop didn't have any my size, so they just blocked it off.

anyone else have any creative revelations of what I could paint the bay?

it'll be blue/black/cast aluminum otherwise.

Or magenta/teal/fuschia. heck yeah.

You want to really make you engine bay stand out, paint it off-white/cream colored with an enamel or 2-part paint. Use classic navy or red for accents.

Gunmetal, blue and black..

Any suggestions on highlighting? What part should be which color?
