deck install

so im gonna put a cd player in place of my tape deck. i have the harness. whats the best way to mount the unit. i've tried to adapt the springs clips to no reward. whats the best way to do this. i want it solid in the slot. please reply

There should be an aluminum cage that slides over the deck. Put the cage into the single DIN slot, and bend the tabs with a flat-blade screwdriver to secure it to dash bezel. Then slide deck into cage. Most if not all decks will come with a cage.

Did you buy the deck new or used? If no cage, go to a car audio store with your deck, and buy one. It's specific for your particlular deck, and should cost no more than $10-$15.
