I'd be surprised if the part numbers weren't the same, but if they are, its probably cause the MX-6 part would be built for more load, aka stronger, so I'd go with MX-6 if you're building for power. Same engine, same transmission, except MX-6 has taller final drive gear ratio.

Not so fast, the Ze has more power than a stock MX-6 so I would get an upgraded MX-6 clutch. You should be able to call ClutchMasters and tell them what you have and let them tell you what you need.

Well there are 2 factors. How much do you want to spend and how long do you want it to last? When I first did my swap to the kl-ze I bought a clutchmasters stage 2 r racing clutch and a fidanza flywheel in a package... less that 20,000 miles later the clutch was toast and it was very expensive. I also had to replace the surface on the flywheel because of that clutch. Not worth it IMO for daily driving.

After that happened I bought an Exedy clutch off of ebay for $108 shipped for the kl-ze. yeah sure it doesn't grab quite as well as the stage 2 but who really needs to hear the tires squeak going 60 mph on the freeway when downshifting right???

That Exedy has now lasted me over 2 years with 80,000+ miles on it! And I still drive the crap out of that car on a daily basis!! And I also ran my fastest time at 14.7 with that clutch...

Do what you want but from my experience if you aren't going to turbo or add substantial power to the klze go with OEM. But upgrade your flywheel - trust me on this one!!
