**No Sound** Problems with JVC KD-HDR1 CD Player
I just got rid of my old Sony headunit and installed a new JVC cd player because it has HD Radio built into it but now my speakers have no sound. I've checked to make sure the speakers are all wired right and they are but this cd player still has no sound. Anyone have any suggestions for me here or should I take it somewhere to get checked? Funny thing is I do all the stereo systems for the people in my hood with no problems ever and everytime I have to do something to my stereo something is wrong. Very weird.

Just do some simple tests
1. get an AAA battery and touch it too the speaker leads of a speaker - if it pops then the speaker is good. Check all speakers.
2. Get a multimeter and check that speaker wires and speakers are not touching ground or are too low an impedence (some decks a picky and won't turn on if it thinks the speakers are shorted)
3. Get a known working speaker and check if there is sound coming out directly behind the deck. (if the deck has no sound and the heat sink could cook an egg in a minute, then it's probably burnt out)
4. Check to see if the deck has a setting to turn off the internal speaker amp (some decks do this if you are only using RCA's - keeps the deck cooler)
Electronics are fun!!!
