Heh, yeah kinda. I dont even know if people visit it anymore. I basically never go on the forum or anything.
I mainly use it now for hosting files and pictures now. Im thinking of doing some restructuring to it but I dont know what to do. Any suggestions are welcome.

Not anymore, I cleaned it all up. Took forever too.

It was insane.. every single page had spam for porn in it. I guess I should have been paying more attention to it.

Easiest way is to allow people to register an account, but the admin of the site needs to approve the registration.
That way the spammers cant post.
On small to medium sites this works, on this site, it`d probably be much work and administration.

I run a little community message board for the automotive enthusiasts in my town and we started getting the spam-bots signing up shortly after we submitted the site to Google.

I had to set the forum to "Admin Account Activation" because i haven't had time to install a PHPBB Mod to prevent spam bots.

Jeff from here (MX-3.com owner) recommended a mod for PHPBB called VIP. I haven't tried it yet but it must work good if it keeps the spammers off of MX-3.com

Right now our local site gets 3-4 Spam Bots registering daily most of them are either from China, Russia or the USA.

I basically just started collecting the IP addresses when they sign up and put them in the banned IP list. But i doubt that'll do much good.

I really hate Spam Bots :rant2:
