First Off, The mazda Mx3 AUTO TRANS blow! If you were to do this in a Manuel DOHC mx3 ur time would be slightly better depending on how good u can shift.. Ither then that do a MANUEL conversion and swap it to a BP.
TREVO-Under major construction, Bp coming soon! TO a mx3 near you

yeah ive thought of that but there arent any manual mx3's around here where i live. :( i know where a v6 mx-3 with a blown auto tranny for 700 and a v6 mx-3 wiht a good tranny for 750 are. i may see if the guy wiht the v6 that has nothing wrong with it will trade me for my car and 200 bucks. i only paid 500 for mine so it should be a good trade. do the v6 autos do any better on the track?

i have a question for anyone willing to help me...is it possible for my "VRIS" to be not working properly for me to get such poor times? i mean i wasnt even close to stock times with the full interior stripped, an intake, and exhaust...i know its an automatic but still i got beat by a 1987 chevy nova(identical to 87 toyota corrolla) by a car length and a half. trust me i used to own the car that beat me it shouldnt have beat me. it is technically totaled form a car accident, it has a 1.6 carburated sohc motor. but anyways back to my question....how would i check my "VRIS" to make sure it is working properly????????? thanks in advance to anyone that offers help and suggestions.

wire it open and run a couple laps... if it's a better time then perhaps it is opening oddly...

Hahah...prepare to feel even dumber....

ready?

VRIS doesn't exist on the 1.6 4bangers. But thats ok, you learn new things everyday right? If you really want to get better track times, you might as well just do a swap. Right now it's like trying to figure out how to make your bicycle run a faster 1/4 mile.

no VRIS on Any B6?.....because i'm like 900% sure my 1.6L had it on it...

guess..come to think of it...there was never an actuator on the Intake-mani :?

Is that whole solenoid block on the pulley side of the intake allllll for Emissions and FPR management then...?

Yup. Varible intake resonance was exclusive to the k series engines. Sorry bud. Yes, all the actuators woudl have been for EGR, or other vacume related things (not sure which..i know ziltch about the b series) but no VRIS. Take a look at the wiki article about it, then you'll understand more.
