(To Neil and Pakfeifer) Center Console with Drink Holders

Post by illapino »

i just wanted to suggest one product that i think would be the most functional unit to put in every mx-3 on this board:

A Center Console with (2) Drink Holders

give it some thought. coz for one thing, cars should have this in this day and age and aggravates me every single time i do a drivethru only to realize that i can't even put my drink anywhere, and it ends up spilling on the ride home ... and no, i refuse to buy those stupid cup holders that clip on to my vents! i'm sure this item would be a valuable add-on, and as i've taken apart the center console before, i'm sure it would need nothing more than a moldjob ... easy installation. the most practical and valuable modification to the mx-3's interior no doubt

thanks for your time

Dont even need that, you have a few options in terms of cup holders

1 - Double Deck Center Console. Rare stock option. A second layer on the center console. Works ok, but not really sturdy

2- Standard lid with cup holder ring. Someon eBay right now:

I believe this one need the center console from the auto seatbelts mx-3. For what i've heard, the're center console have less storage room because it incorporate something of the autobelts, but it may have a section for the base of the cup. Never seen one in person really, but I believe that is what it needs

3- eBay "JDM" cup holder change tray. This will occupy one of the din slots

4- Cop holder/Change tray from a Ford Taurus. Very Similar to the above mentioned one. Should be cheap and easy to find at a junk yard

5- Found this, kinda neat actually. Should get my sister one for her Prelude:

Too bad they didn't think of the pop out holders until 94. Those double console ones were such a joke.

I guess my cupholder must be upside down or something, because when it opens, it opens into the back seat, and putting weight (like a cup) on it causes the the thing to fall into the back. I think an in-dash cup holder for below the the two stereo bays would be good to have.

I have a 95 mx3 with the pop out cup holder. And if I pull up the lid for the arm rest, there's a piece inside that drops down for more cups lol. Guess you could always swap your dash out for a 94+ one.

also you could just make urself one... i think

cant remember the exact width of the arm rest console but all u gotta do is take a piece of mdf sand/cut out a curvature and jam the thing in there and u got a cupholder w/e size u want and its hidden...

or just get a 94 and get the can holders haha

Double cup holder rare

Post by racer3v »

I had the double cup holder and got rid of it for the single pop up version. The double was a piece of crap. It just sits in my garage now. Yeah well. Maybe I will sell it with my car. Does anyone know of any cup holders that can be installed the little cd tray under the head unit?
