Radio fitment

Post by Jay72 »

So, my car was broken into and they did a number on my cosole to get the deck. I was wondering if there's a good fix to this part or if I have to replace the whole paneling seeing that it's all one piece with the sides. OR can I still install a deck with it broken?

Thanks,
Jay

wtf? did they take it out with a jackhammer?!? the clips on my oem radio were broken so I took it out with a crowbar and didn't leave any marks.

I bet if you put the new stereo on the bottom it should sit fine. There seems to be enough support left in that bar to warrant not replacing it. I wouldn't even know where to start if you had to replace that little bar, the whole piece is huge.

And I'm sorry for your loss. I once had a deck ripped from my janky honda. I was going to throw the deck in the trash anyways (it didn't work), but just that vulnerable feeling of having something taken is harsh.

Hey, thanks. Yeah. I think "violated" would best describe how I felt when I discovered what happened. The pics of the smashed glass is worse!
Anyhow, it doesn't look like it in the pic but, that piece is completely disconnected at both ends. Installing the deck on the bottom is a good idea but, I've got one of those cup holders that pop out and I wouldn't want to have anything spill down on the radio. Do you think using some strong compound adhesive would suffice to hold the deck in place (on top) without it shaking around on bumpy roads?

Thanks for your reply.

lol. The boot's staying with me. So, glue wouldn't work on that divider?
