how do i remove rear seat belts..

i am gutting my trunk area and making it a 2 seater..i jsut cant get the bottom of the belts..the bolt that goes into the floor out..so i have the belts in it still and i want to take them out, same withthe buckle how can i take it out ? i dont think i wanna cutt it to bad..i tryed using a compact wrench but nuthing... ? any one done this ?

When I stripped to a 2-seater, removed em by hand w/a 1/2" drive deep socket w/18" breaker bar handle. I remember them being pretty tight to break loose but not impossibly so... You'd expect em to be formidable enough to do their job I guess. Didn't use any liquid penetrant but you could try a shot of the stuff, might help.

I think the seat balt bolts use some sort of funky threaded hole so that it get tight as crap. Therefore penetrant might not help. A good breake bar should do the trick. Just take it easy so that you don't strip the bolt head...
