Jacking points/axle stands

Post by franky »

What are the best axle stand positions for an MX-3? The online manual says under the runners just behind the front wheels. This seems fair enough but this would surely put some of the fragile body plastic on the stand. Any views/pics of front and rear jacking points and axle stand positions would be helpful.

Sounds a bit like coming from "cordan blea" to "how to boil an egg" but hey-ho.

Thanks.

for the front, i've always used the rear control arm mount, the roundness fits nicely into the *V* of most jackstands.

for the rear, i use the frame rail just in front of the trailing link.

In the front i jack up the car usually by the tow hooks. They are pretty tough, i bottom them out all the time and never get bent. Than put stands under the weld pince, and mine are also bent up. In the rear i just use the frame for everything.
