ok well i got pulled over the other day.....
I live in AZ where if your going 20+ over it's a criminal offense(felony conviction).....
THe cop said he paced me from this road to another road going 70..the speed limit is 35.....
So i got this paper arrest thingy....
by the way i was not going that fast....
~does anyone know anything about how this might work out because he didn't get me on the radar gun....? i was thinking he can't prove it....anyone have any thoughts? or ideas on how to fight it.....

here in california, by law if your going 15+ miles over the speed limit, they can charge you with reckless driving. So you should thank god you only got a speeding ticket. Your situation is your word against his. All the judge needs to believe is that you were going faster than 35.

wow... american system Sucks...
In Canukita the crown has to Prove it... I've won 2 tickets on Inproperly calibrated radar guns...
We also have Stepped ticking in NB atleast...
KPH FYI...
Below 25Km over = Speeding $168 - 3 points
Over 25 but Under 40 over = Speeding 25Km or greater - $288 - 5points
Over 40 = reckless driving + speeding over 40km = like $900 - 7 to all 10 points... and possible jailtime
Mind our speed limits are roughly
Highway = 100-110KPH( 62~70mph)
Urban = 40-60 (25-~40)
Industrial = 70-80(45-50)
Rural = 60-90(25-55)

I dont know how anyone would hav the nerve to go in an accuse such think, basing their probably to win on something unlikely. I've heard of people just getting laughed at, I dont believe they allow that accusation anymore. Maybe if you were a few km/mph over, but not when you double the speedlimit.
BTW, Ontario has a max of 15 points, but your pretty screwed after 6 I believe
If he was pacing you, maybe you can try. Although you say you weren't going that fast, but you didn't say how fast you were going. So your either; 1) Guilty and don't want to admit to it, 2) Dont know how fast you were actually going, so how would you know if you were speeding or not.
So you want to go and fight a ticket, your word against an "honorable" police officer, with not even the confidence on what speed you were actually going, or going in front of the judge and being honest. If you were honestly not going that fast, you should have your own argument for the judge, and not asking for our help for a way out.
The only honest way out is to go up and tell the judge your sorry, especially if this is your first offence. Or get a ticket-fighting service. You'll pay for it, but their success rate is usually high. A best one would be where you don't pay unless they win.. Mind you, a win could probably be even a reduced fine or points, but it would stil be better than what you have now.
In the end, if your not being honest, and therefor have no actual argument against the said ticket. Unless you get lucky and get off scott free, you'll just have to be an adult and live with the consequence of your actions.

I got clocked 35 miles over speed limit.. it was 55 i was going like 85. Pulled me over gave me the ticket. I said I was goinjg to work so he let me go. Went to court took a 95 dllr defensove driving course and ticket never appeared on my record. American system is quite nice LOL. According to the law i should have served a mandatory 30 days in jail. Pay an over 300 dllrs fine.. which didnt happen
you are lucky you got the ticket. Now u said you git the "arrest" paper?
