Did something similar w/my MX-6 key and it was my only copy at the time. Don't hammer it, the key metal tends to be brittle and can crack or break easily. Get a new copy(s) made from the damaged key if possible. I used a large 12" adjustable wrench to mostly straighten mine by adjusting the jaws almost all the way closed, then slipping the bent key tip/lengthwise into the jaws and gently leveraging the wrench to straighten. The key started to crack but still held together and was straightened enough that copies could be made. Wouldn't expect the lock to need replacing unless ya find that a fresh copy won't work in the ignition either... g/l

Or you can take your registration (with vin #) to your local mazda dealer and they will cut you a new key for $15. Cheers

This may not be an option I know of several people that have tried this in the past and where told that (Mazda) doesn't keep the records for this info more than 10 years. This info was direct from a reps at both MNAO and Mazda CanadaTunes67 wrote:Or you can take your registration (with vin #) to your local mazda dealer and they will cut you a new key for $15. Cheers
