ZEX machine gun purge kit with a twist.

Post by Yoda »

A friend of mine is installing one of these kits in his show car. Wanting something a little different he asked me to do a little sheetmetal fabrication for him. What we decided to do was french in about 6" of an old burned out 1919 barrel and barrel shroud point forward out of the bodywork of his car with the pruge kit plumbed inside the 1919 barrel. With a red/orange LED it should get peoples attention. A sheet metal cover was made to cover the barrel for street driving or other times when it may attract the wrong type of attention. Car is going out to paint and interior mods later this week so I won't get a chance to take a picture of it until it comes back over the winter.

I think his collective posts should have their own forum entitled "Mazda knowledge.. Learn you will" Half his posts go over my head and take me an hour to figure out.. but its always a learning experience :2thumbsup:

I wouldn't call it "Mazda Knowledge". Much of what I write is knowledge gained from other fields of mechanics and engineering just that I apply that information to my cars which happens to be a Mazda. It also helps that many of my friends the aftermarket industry change jobs from time to time so I get to meet a lot of the factory tech reps and not just the sale and marketing guys. Having a job that involves a lot of international travel helps expands the number of people to get ideas or source parts. It may actually surprise you that sometime what you call "Mazda Knowledge" actually came from studies vintage WWII german aircraft or from designing ink drying systems on a printing presses.

True. Youve been around since the beginning. We need more old timers back on the board!

Sorry the CF card for my tool box digi cam has gone missing. (May have used it to reprogram a PLC controller) BTW the car is a Mitsubishi. It being painted Japanese Imperial Green with air brushed "real" flames and a red circular graphic on each side.
