To race or not to race

Post by Teqnyck »

I've been invited to go with some people to the track tomorrow night, and then again sunday morning(two separate tracks). I'm just a little paranoid because my rear motor mount is torn, and my clutch is slipping pretty bad. I want to go, I just don't know what to expect, and I don't want to do any damage to the rear tranny mount. You think I'll be ok if I just baby it off the line? What do you guys think?
KLZE/KL31 ecu/Pacesetter headers/track pipe cat delete/2.5 inch custom exhaust out to fart pipe/warm air intake for now :(/Fidanza 9lbs flywheel/Stage 2 kevlar road racing clutch which still slips/stock wheels/BFG KDW-2 tires. Looks bone stock ;)

There are those who claim to be street racers, and then there are those who claim the streets for themselves. I am not a street racer. I am a StreetSweeper.

I wouldn't race with a worn clutch and torn mount. You could break the mount and fry your clutch pretty easily. Go and watch and help and have fun, but I wouldn't race it.

I appreciate the honest responses, I think I might run a few anyways, although I don't expect much. Without the ability to launch hard or stick my shifts, I doubt I'll even make 14s

I swear, why do I insist on embarrasing myself in public.

Oh, and thanks for the offer, cjthor. I'll be there tomorrow night, though, not tonight. :P

Yeah, I didn't race. The Street Warriors tour sucked. It was absolutely packed, there was a mile long line to just get into the parking lot. We had to park like a mile away and walk, wasn't even worth it. :(

Oh, of course!! I'm in Portland almost every weekend, probably be up that way tomorrow night or Sunday morning even. My g/f goes to Western States Chiropractic so I'm up there constantly. Just let me know what you're thinking and I'll make it happen.
