Okay, I know some of you are in Ontario. I've been dealing with a company called Concepts on Wheels to send me a bodykit that they distribute from Nopi. Thing is, although the guy was extremely cooperative in my first liasons over the phone, ever since I "placed my order" for the bodykit to be sent, everything has gone sketchy. He said he would provide invoices and information about the shipment in late August, but weeks went by and I heard nothing from them. I got through around mid-September by calling them (I'm in BC) asking what's been going on, I haven't heard a thing from you, and he says the kit was already sent, with the front bumper three days late. And no I didn't receive his email which he then narrated to me over the phone ... Again I hear nothing from him for weeks. I call this one time, knowing it was past closing time in his area zone, but someone picks up and hangs up on me after saying "Hello. Goodbye." after I ask "Is [Name] there?". I can't prove if it was his voice, but decided to not pursue any business with the company as a whole anymore. I don't bother to call. But I never said it by email to cancel for some reason. And weeks go by again without me hearing from him.
Well now It's October. I just received an email from this man who I'll leave unnamed. Not surprisingly, I notice that his return email address has changed domains from "@conceptsonwheels.com" to "@bell-[something-or-other].ca". In this email he says the back ordered bodykit has finally been arranged to his location (remember they have to get it off Nopi from Atlanta, USA), and he'll be sending it next week.
Should I keep dealing with this company/guy ? I've already provided my visa number, and no longer want the sideskirts I had initially asked for. I don't need a new stress in my life wondering if I'll be charged and have nothing received in "5-7 days by road to your parent's business" as he says. Or the stress of receiving something that's been damaged while shipping (which was what happened to the black altezzas I ordered from California, totalling the entire wait to be 1.5 months)
i have no problem with waiting. but if i'm constantly being mislead by arrival times and what's really going on, whether I'm being duped by an employee on his way out the door, then why bother? Sigh ... this is the greatest illness in modifying cars : people.
by the way. if i'm in BC and importing something from ON, should I be charged taxes or no?
Bodykit is Coming. Or Not ... ?

I'd finish up the current mess (whether it be getting the kit or your money back) and never deal with them again. It's one thing if it's going to take a while and you know that; it's a completely different matter if they are going to lie to you about timelines. In general, I could care less if something is going to take a month or two just so long as the seller is up front with me and tells me how long it will take (that way I'm not getting all excited/pissed off about something that is not going to come for another month). Good luck.

O, they hadn't charged you yet? In that case, yes, you did the right thing. Good to hear you're out of that fiasco.
