Custom_V6_Limited_SE - '93 Mazda MX-3 GS Special Edition (B)
First off, the moderators may be wondering about the (B) in the subject line. I only put that there because I have two of the same car and it would have been dumb to explain that in the subject.
This car started off pretty much stock, not running, and visually destroyed.
I am in the process of gutting the interior which wasn't original anyway and I didn't like it.
Now for the fun part. Can anyone say engine swap? I successfully swapped out the old quarter-million mile K8 for a ~100,000 mile KL-DE that I picked up from Jitb. After much tinkering and replacement parts, it was finally running correctly; however, after driving it for a short period of time, it died and sat for a while after which I identified that it had fried two ECUs. Now, the project continues. I just spent some money on new parts like the ECU and alternator as well as parts for the HEI mod and external ignition coil. Stay tuned for more updates.

100,000 is a lot IMO. Sounds like some fun anyways. Keep us tuned.

New alternator installed and wiring harness changed (trying not to fry a third ECU). I am waiting for a MSD Power Tower to come in at Advance Auto Parts so that I can do the HEI mod and external ignition coil. I am also waiting for a KL07 ECU from eBay to arive.

Alternator, wiring harness, and new(to me) KL07 ECU installed. I fixed a coolant leak, topped off all the fluids, and fired her up. Best of all, it did fire up and hasn't died yet. So far, so good. There are still some things to work out like rough idle... I'll go dig up a couple of pics from when I did the swap now.

Sorry these don't show much of the car. I'll have to borrow a digital camera and get some better ones up.

No, that is not photoshopped. There are, in fact, three special Editions there.
