i think jarid's tails on Ebay look damn good. I'm about to trust this guy with several hundred dollars. He's a super nice guy, and he wouldn't be our friendly local moderator if he were a scam artist. For someone i've never met, i trust this guy completly.

Does anyone else think that Pak should make the Altezza's but with a black or smoke background instead of the silver. They'd look a little less flashy but still be nice. Supra lights come to mind.

For doing the tails red:
The "Escort" folks have been doing this for a while now
http://www.hyperlnks.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=16
Ok, so here's step-by-step how to do it since everyone keeps asking.
Instructions:
1. Go to the store and buy a can of Testors Candy Apple Red transparent paint. This should be in the model car, or hobby section of any store like Wal*mart, just make sure if you buy it from Wal*mart, you have someone 18 or older buy it for you otherwise, they won't sell it to you.(not really sure why that is though...)
2. Take your taillights off.
3. Mask off parts of the taillight you don't wish to paint or sand using masking tape and paper.
4. Sand the part of the taillight you wish to paint using 2000 or 3000 grit sand paper
WARNING: I WOULD NOT RECCOMMEND USING ANYTHING UNDER 2000 GRIT...SOMETHING LIKE 180, OR 360 WILL MAKE YOUR LIGHTS LOOK FOGGY.
5. After sanding, wash the entire sanded area with some good soap likd Dawn, or use some degreaser that is used with painting cars.
6. Shake the can of paint well, and spray a thin layer over the selected area you wish to paint.
7. Allow to dry... You may use a hair dryer or heat to dry the paint quicker just don't get it too hot to make the paint bubble.
8. Repeat this 2-3 more times, or until you reach your desired darkness of red (I don't reccommend over 4 layers).
9. You're done...Put your taillights on, and test them out if you want.
Image
[ October 27, 2002: Message edited by: Skuce ]

I went to canadian tire, bought a can of red stainglass paint (its transparent red) and a can of clear coat (tremclad). i masked off the reverse light and applied the red spray paint in like 20 very light coats over the period of a day.. i spraye THE ENTIRE LIGHT, not just the amber.. so it would look even. once it had be dry for 72 hours i top coated it with the clear spray enamel (again, many many *light* coats until it looked just right).
it looks great and you can't tell that theyve been painted really.. they're a bit darker red but it looks really good on a black car.. wish i could post pics...
