trannny won't move HELP

hello..just got my self a mx3 in good condition other than the fact i can not get it to shift out of park the car has been sitting for some time...i read about some way of manuling taking it out of gear but i could really use some more clear instructions...its an auto tranny by the way on the v6..i want to convert to manual tranny anyway..but in oreder for me to move the car i'm going to have to come up with some thing...please help

On the right side of the shifter consol there is a small black rubber tab. Pull it out and use a straight blade screwdriver to activate the switch. Look in the online shop manual and you'll see what I mean
