if you cant get thoes bolts out it might be worth a bit of research before you go looking for new block.

ok got everything out except the block, the freakin bolts on the strengthening piece attached to the block were stripped lol had to cut em with a dremil cutter...here are some pics of the pistons and everything else.

as u can see the pistons have a ton of oil on them and look really burnt, and with the headgasket heres the weird thing. about 4 of the coolant passageways were blocked? weird huh, i dunno weird stuff

the pistons dont seem to worn, just baked on oil. in my opinion (may not mean anythign) those parts seem pretty good. if i were you i would buy new oversized piston rings, new valve seals, and get your block milled out (if you can ever remove it from your car) so teh new piston rings will fit.
if anything take some degreaser to the pistons.. just make sure htey are complaetly clean befor eyou put them back in the engine.
of course if you had 1500 laying around or so, and cant do an engine swap, get new pistons, connecting rods, and even a crankshaft. that should keep your engine in shape and good compression for another 150,000 miles. plus you can reclaim alot of the stock power.

the spark plugs don't have anything to do with your low compression. they aren't even in the motor when the compression test is done. the guage is hooked up to the combustion chamber through the spark plug hole.WingleBeast wrote:maybe some of your spark plugs wernt doing well
if your compression is low, there are 2 things that could be wrong. either your rings are bad, or your valves aren't sealing properly. you should wait until the tech reworks your head, then ask him how the valves looked. of course even if your valves were found to be bad it doesn't mean that your rings are still good.
if i were you, i would buy a set of stock size rings and the main/rod bearings. then all you have to do is hone the cylinders and put your engine back together. since you already have the engine tore apart it isn't that much more of a hassle to do either.
