Lowering

So I want to lower my car, and prefer coilovers. Anyone got any info on pros/cons on springs or coilovers. I've been considering Ground Control Coilovers. They got Eibach Springs, both of which I thought were good brands...any input? And can I just get springs/coilovers(with camber kit)? Or need I struts or w/e (I know hardly anything when It comes to suspension work.

Alot of what you are asking depends on what your intentions for the car are. I am guessing since you dont know much about the suspension, that you are mostly a daily driver. Your sig doesnt say where you are from, but unless you are in colder climate where you have to worry about alot of snow in the winter times i would suggest lowering springs. Coilovers are more for a race oriented person that needs to adjust their springs for different set ups to get the most potential out of their car. If you are just a daily driver i think coilovers are alittle over kill for what you need. Again i am assuming this based on your question.

To answer your other question if you are doing your springs i would suggest doing your struts at the same time. You will have the spring/strut assembly taken apart anyways to get your springs replaced. Not to mention a decent amout of lowering will wear your stock strut out pretty quickly. I would also suggest doing your strut mounts and thrust bearings in the front (rear dont have them) at the same time.
As for brands of springs eibach and H&R seem to be pretty popular on this board. For struts there are many options. Mazdaspeed (which i dont believe are manufactured anymore), koni being your next best option but they are only inserts and require some fab work to make them fit, next are tokico blues, which are my brand of choice, and once they wear out the koni inserts will go into them, and lastly KYB GR2. If you do some searching on this board i believe it will help you alot more on making decisions for which set up will suit you best for you driving style. Also i know there are about 2 or 3 brands that i left out that i can not think of their name right now for both springs and struts. I hope this helps

Well, I live in Oklahoma, so there's really no tellin what the climates like But snow is not really a problem. And yeah, it's a daily driver, I don't plan on goin to the tracks or any races like that. I mean, I like to drive fast and mess around a lil some times, but no race stuff So my main interest is looks. And I had always thought coilovers were more show since you can adjust to the perfect height look, and lowering springs were more stable and sturdy for race. Guess not... So you think lowering springs would be my best bet? And If I got those, I would still need a camber kit, too, right? Are there any good sites for good,cheap springs?

Good quality lowering sprigns from a company who has products of competion grade! in a practicalll application (street)
H&R freakin rock for the money Race are STIFF!!! Sport dont lower as much but are perfect for street driving! if you want to hide remaining wheel gap.. get a shock/strut w/ adjustable "spring perch" and you can lower a tad more. Without having race stiffness! (hard on potholes and crumbby roads!!! )

Eibach is great too
For shocks that are going to be for a BEGINNER level.. Koni non adjustables , Tokiko!!! or Bilsteins!!! even Kyb's sport like version (non adjust i think)
or if you want to fine tune your suspension Koni Yellows maybe if you have friends to help you know how much pressure to dial in.. and match to spring rates!!!

how much roughly is it? when i bought mine it came with a set of 17"s so how much would you say i should lower it? as of right now im just a daily driver.

i have no clue what to do as you can tell..
