plans for spring 06?

Post by BADMX3 »

what's everyone planning for spring 06 where do you think your cars are going to be at?

I'll start:
-drop the new engine K8 (no miles)
-fit full bodykit (sat in my loft at the moment), evo front / drift sides / evo rear
-fit carbon fibre inverted hood (sat in it's box in the study)
-18" chrome rims (sat in the loft in boxes), needs tyres
-chrome manifold / downpipe (in box in my bedroom)
-drilled / vented rotors front and rear (boxed in loft)
-stainless clutch line
-exedy clutch
-stainless brake lines
-powder coated front valve cover
-have both altezza's and tinted rear lenses
-pak rear spoiler (already on car)
-put the soundsystem back in with tv and ps2

still to buy:
-phelonic spacers,
-new exhaust setup twins,
-leather trim,
-repray in black with a slight gold tinge (possibly manga airbrushed)

then it'll be sold to the highest bidder i'd like enough for it to get a decent amount towards an impreza wrx cos late 06 / early 07 i'll be moving to the alps with my dad.

Start by having a service,
install new brake setup, to hopefully include calipers off a pick up!
then Eibach springs with Koni adjustables,
new rims, probably a 16" - 17" compomotive rim wrapped in Yokohama A032R rubber.

I'll probably install a DE 2.5 rather than a ZE coz they are just much easier to get parts for, wot do u think?
I'm eventually gonna stick throttle bodies on to it while sorting cams, heads and exhaust anyway.

BADMX3 - just out of interest, where did you get the new engine? is it an exact replacement of your current engine - is your car a UK model? would you care to tell us how much you paid for it?

just bought a used distributor from a breaker's yard...fingers crossed it works. if not, i may try the HEI mod, if I could prove my coil was working ok

my plans for Spring 06:
- start to show my car a little more respect
- change all filters and fluids
- timing belt change
- await 1st baby in mid-summer :D
- if my car dies, look for another mx-3 with fewer miles
1995 MX-3 1.8 V6 UK model...140K miles :-S

i dropped on lucky i bought the new engine for £300 a guy who worked at the mazda factory bought it for £250 for a project. it was a fully paid unit (which cost £1800 i think the guy said) but the old dude popped his clogs and his car got scrapped. so the guy who worked at the mazda factory bought it for a nominal fee. he couldn't use it so i bought it.

the reason i didn't go for a ze is that i think it's too much hastle.

yeah i spent a fortune buying the stuff from the states > and now i can't get my money back lol
