Be carefull big guy. Did you go through all of the pages? I was willing to jump on that engine too for a future project. The intial price was rediculous considering that when I probed for authentication / proof, none was to be had. It appeared he got quite indignant at my probing questions, not only for my own reasons but for the protection of the membership at large. As you'll see from the previous pages, there was some successes, and some, not so, as in the case of Bling Bling. Just thought it might be worth mentioning. g/l

I see this thread is quite old
John, first off I'm not sure what you mean by "big guy"

Since I don't know you very well I take it that such is a common method to address newer members here on the forum.

No offense taken
I agree, the ZE's are available from $700 on up but who knows what the real deal might be.
On the other hand Bubba claims his engine was rebuilt and only has a few K's on it. So I think that $1000.00 is well worth it even without the intake. Labor cost here in the East Coast US is outrageous. Even general repair shops at the gas pumps here in southwestern CT charge $80 to $98 an hour. While I agree that one cannot expect to recover labor charges, in this case it makes a bit of difference and it's
worth the extra asking price if the engine was rebuilt and only has 3k on it. Ever price a K8 short block from a reliable source? As far as proof goes I don't think I would have kept a lot of it either unless I was planning on selling it.
There was a young man nearby here in CT several Months ago who was looking to get $7000.00 for his 92 MX-3 simply because he claimed that the total ZE installation cost him over $4000.00 Well needless to say he ended up keeping it a while longer.
Although I could see a little negotiating bias in your part, possibly stemmed from personal interests to make the engine purchase, I thank you for the input and the heads up. I have not heard from Bubba yet, but I will not be surprised if the engine was already sold.
