Eunos 30X, engine cutting out>> Ignition module/coil/d

Post by GrunttleberryJnr »

Hi all,
Got this problem with my Eunos 30X 92'. Posted this also in the http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/clu ... australia/ Yahoo group.

My 92' Eunos 30X seemed to have died a horrible death on friday before
NY eve. The engine died on me whilst driving on the M4 and I pulled
over straight away. The engine will start and rev to 2k but anything
over 3k and the engine cuts out. The NRMA guy came and did a quick
spark lead test to check the cut out and said the Ignition module was
toast.

You can start it and it'll drive a bit but it seems when something overheats then the engine cuts out.

I've just put it into AMR motors at leichhardt and they are checking
if its the ignition module / coil or dizzy.

They said if its the dizzy the price is approx $1200

Any advice or info on this is much appreciated

regards
chris

Just check the links I posted in the following link and it will show you how to fix your module issues
http://www.mx-3.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=48065

There is also a posting on the site by gro-harlem using technical terminology. Mine is more for people who are not technally inclined and need a walk through. Good luck.

"1200"...Maybe he was refering to all the disty's you'll go through b4 you realize that you could have done an HEI mod to begin with! He'll swindle the dizzy thing off and make you dizzy with bills! Never trust a mechanic :!: ....and if you do, and he takes advantage of you, just meet his daughter and look under her hood for a while. Oh man how do I come up with these???
