Nov 12th or 13th: Mazda ZOOM ZOOM LIVE

Post by Gro Harlem »

In various cities on different dates. I already registered for the DC one on Sunday the 13th at 2:30PM

Its FREE I think..doesn't say it isn't on the site. ANd you get to autox a new miata which just kicks a--.

This is definitely better than the RevItUp competition they had in 2003 since they have the RX8 and miata's drivable, as well as the 3

Gro, it's too far for same day drive but I may consider it by going down the day before. Can you recommend a hotel close to the venue for me? Have you been to one of these before? How many Mazda's and or MX3's do you believe will be in attendance? Thanks Wil!!

lmao if u were seriously going to drive that far u could stay at my house overnight easily. but i live about 1 hour from the site (but my hosue might be on-the-way for you anyways)

either way, where it is located is INSIDE the Washington D.C. beltway, there are a bazillion motels. I don't know of a specific one but s---...there are literally probably 1000 to choose from that would be within a reasonable distance.

oh and its a mazda-sanctioned event...u'll be driving ONLY new mx-5's or Rx8's, not ur own car on teh course.

So basically a person in a yugo could come & participate.

Based on past local meet suggestions I"ve posted in the DC area, I'd say exactly ZERO other mx3 guys will be there. WHy? B/c everyone in this area is full of s--- when it comes to actually showing up when they say they are.

U'll probbaly meet other mazda ppl (i got a bunch of protege guys to sign up) but the actual event doesn't allow u to drivie around and park like its a car-show, its simply a sanctioned event funded by Mazda USA. But sure, there'll be ppl in the parking lot and s--- i'm sure w/nice cars lol.

so anyone actually go?

it was pretty badass. I got 90 pts which got me a hat. Apparently 100 gets you that GT4 MX-5 concept demo for ps2.

I liked the rx8 more than the mx-5 only b/c it had less roll & was more forgiving, but the miata was definitely nice as hell. IMO a lil too nice (leathered up interior & s--- = higher price :()

So how'd u guys do?

I went to the one in Miami. It was a lot of fun. I actually preferred the Miata over the RX8. It seemed like a lot more fun to drive.
