Changing colors on the guages.

Post by Jmactastic »

Hey guys,

I'm new to this board. Just bought a '95 mx-3 for my wife. I started making mods on it and now I want to drive it all the time. :) Well, I wanted to know if there was a way I could change the color of the instrument panels. I hate that "Green" that is usually standard. Can I just disassemble it and change the lights or would I have to look for custom guages?

Thanks,

Oh and by the way, Are there any other members here from the US? (Houston, TX to be exact)?

yea you can change the color i did that on my taurus just pull the surrounding dash off unscrew the cover to the gauges (this part is important) pull the gauge clusters out there could be a few different sets i havent seen them so im not sure DO NOT take the needles off its unnecessary. check out the bulbs you will need and how many. the actually numbers and you know the gas and rpms that you are actually seeing might be green not the bulb....so if you know how to mix a color with green to make it a different cool looking color you might want to consider going in that direction

I dont think its gonna look nice. I suggest you get a reverse glow gauge. They are pretty cheap on ebay. By the way welcome to http://www.mx-3.com.
