Can a 4cyl be swapped with a 6 KL-ZE

Post by MX3_Sleeper »

Hey ppl, Im looking to buy a Mx-3 and i got about 5000$ to spend. I was wondering if i should buy a 4cyl and try to swap it for a KL-ZE. Does anyone know if it would be easier with the V6 to begin with?

Thanks

This is a very common sense question. The ZE is bolt on in a V6 car. cause the K8 and ZE are both KL engines. The I4 is not, so you will basically need to replace almost everything in the engine bay, including axles, tranny, etc.

Alright thanks, I wasnt aware of that. Aren't those parts easily found in junkyards??? I mean the tranny maybe not but if you take the stock Mx-3 V6 tranny, made for 120hp and your swapping it with a KL-ZE (200hp stock) plus headers, intake, exaust and such, wouldent you want a new clutch and tranny anyways??
