Question!

Post by AshesofPepper »

Alright i'm sure this has been asked before but i did search for it and came up empty-handed.

Does anyone actually have their deck MOUNTED, as in secured, in the stock location and if so, how? At the moment my deck is sitting free in the stock mounting location, and skipping like hell

I'm sure there's a vehicle specfic kit i can get to solve this but i have no clue where to start looking.

Any suggestions?

if you deck was brand new it came with a cage that slides over the deck and clips in.

1. Take cage off
2. Slide cage in car hole.
3. Push taps in cage out to hold cage in.
4. Plug in deck and slide deck in till it clicks. enjoy.

if you bought it used u might not have a cage. Where do you live? and what kinda deck do you have? maybe someone has a spare cage you can have :) :D

Ya those dumb tabs... Easy to put in pain in the a-- to take out... Ya just push the top 2 in the sides and the bottom pins down then slid the deck in and now your good.

there is just simply not enough speace to accomodate all the wires behind my deck, this is why no matter how hard i press my deck will not lock with the cage.

measure it, but it will fit. U have to tuck the wires down the sides and stuff

unless u are using RCA's for amps and the RCA's are like 2inch long plugs on em  it will fit

I have a 5 volt eclipse I HAVE MORE WIRES THEN YOU!! The eclipse decks (the 5 volts and 8 volts) have a crap load of wires. The amp ports and the radeo and crap i dont even need i have all on wires.... You juve have to wiggle get under behind the dash and pull a little and it will slide in.

why would 5 volt make a difference? It is simply a measure of the RCA signal level, not the quality of the deck. My panasonic has 5 sets of RCA's...Front, Rear, Subwoofer, Auxillary1, and Auxillary 2...4 of which are being used and they are fat RCA's. I also have a big wire for XM radio adapter, and the rest of the wires. There is just no room. I have to figure something out, lol..

MX-Slick all that is behind your deck is the plastic heater tubes, just get a heat gun and melt it a bit and push it in with a peice of wood. Should be able to get just enough clearence for the deck
