MegaSquirt vs Emanage for BP turbo aplications
im looking a engine managment for my car, but i dont have information from that piggy back (emanage) and MSefi in mx3
Here in Pr everyone use Microtec, Haltec or Electromotive but im looking others options
I dont know if emanage use map to increase fuel and advance/retard timming, if i can use my stock distributor or i need another one like miata coils.
Anyone can tell who its better in Mx3
Thanks

Emanage Can control your fuel and ignition while still running off of your stock ECU, the megasquirt replaces your Stock ECU.
I would go Emanage, but I only want 300whp MAX. Ever. If you are going for anything more than that I would go with a SDS System before megsquirt. They are based in Canada, really reliable and a cheaper full standalone

By "Full" standalone I mean comes with all the sensors preassymbled and is an awesome system.

Although MSnS is Like $400 and tested, blah blah blah, I have not seen a setup done on a BPT that works right all the way, meaning controlling everything. I have seen 3 setups now where all they control is the fuel, not the spark.

Im was searching about MSefi, but i dont have time to read, assembly, make a harness and start to learn how its work
How much its SDSefi?? im looking it that site but i dont see the price of this ECU
With Emanage u dont think u can get more than 300whp? why?

Oh you can get more than 300whp out of an emanage, but for more than that You want something that can give you a little more precise tuning. Remember, when using a piggy back the stock sensors do run out at a curtain point. I think the factory maf is the limiting factor, it gives out/maxes around 300-350 I think, Not for sure though.

BuGS just answered that in the post above yours. Yes you could, but the stock sensors (especially the MAF is what I have heard too from teh guys who run E-manage on Miata Turbos) may not handle the power properly, causing your engine to malfunction.Bo0sted_Rafi wrote:but, if you use a bigger injectors, injectors and timming harness, you dont think its possible get 300+???????????

Ya, but I am unsure if you can get the Greddy pressure sensor and get rid of the MAF. I am sure thats what they mean by it replaces your factory sensor but That is something I never got into too deeply. Maybe contact Greddy and find out.bmwm3guy wrote:BuGS just answered that in the post above yours. Thanks

I'll probably be letting my MegaSquirt for the 4cyl go soon. As soon as I get a pre-made KL one, FWIW. It's the one Marlon was selling this summer.

FWIW, there's a new GB that's about to happen on PT for MegaSquirt. Here's the latest specs;

New piggy-back Megasquirt GB I think were meant for the electronically impaired like myself. Old ECU can still effectively controll rudimentary things like fan control and cold idle starts and the like and just stick to fuel and spark control (if you wish). Of course this yet to be released version will have additional options like other GB's. The nice part about this one is that you send your ECU in to them and they integrate the Megasquirt onto your ECU so that when you get it back it will be 100% plug n play, and I like that a lot. No soldering, no cutting, and specifically set-up for our engines - beautifull!!! And still cheaper than other off the shelf management systems too.deathman wrote:go with megasqurit you can piggyback it also, but why would you, it does the same thing as any other system, plus it's by far cheaper. there are some guys on probetalk that will build it for you , or you can build it yourself .
