Ok cdngrl420 thats a little to far.... see we know something of friends we are all a family here and you seem to not really care about anything... I dont no anyone here in real life but hey they help me so i say screw you i like helping people. I do it for a living and if you think franko is lazy ok whatever but it doesnt seem lazy to me. He works hard to get what he wants. So what if his job sucks ok we all been there. My question then is what the hell do you do for a living huh? what you stand on the street corner looking for money or what your "daddies little girl" and use him for money and stay home living with your mom and dad? So you think franko is lazy had you dont care well ok if hes lazy i am betting on it that his car didnt come stock with a turbo so you think it was easy to get something like that set up. Ha you got something coming if you think its easy. So i dont say poor franko i say poor you for not caring.

I don't care about anything? Where do you get that from... I dont care to sit here and listen to someone that comes off as sounding pathetic about something he could easily help himself with. You know what ok I am not bashing him I am just responding to the way I see things if he had reworded his post to not sound so pathetic I would have minded my business. As well I don't appreciate you assuming Im a prostitute or hobo this has nothing to do with you and in none of my posts did I make fun or imply anything bad about franko, other then he was lazy which he admitted to. I am not going to argue about this over the internet we all have our opinions and are allowed to voice them, I did apologize to franko and will again im sorry franko as for you legato screw you.

Legato626 thats totally out of line to say that about cdngrl420. She has just as much right to respond to this post as you have and calling her a whore is too much.

She was responding to Franko and driving home a point to try and shake him up a bit, put some external perspective on it, recognise where he is, and make adjustments so he can move on sucessfully.

If people don't like the responses they shouldn't post / read the thread.

I dunno, I think Legato was just trying to back Franko up. He prolly just overreacted to her post, but in the end, he was just supporting Franko by having his back.

Chill.

Franko wrote:What do you guys do or what is your 'master plan' as it is known? I would really love to get into a job with cars or something but not as a mechanic or something working of ford tempos. I recently discovered that I can tune standalones really good and im pretty good with computers. You always see these guys that are professional tuners tuning supras and rx-7's and stuff.. What kind of a living do these guys make? God I cant do this forever! LORD SHOW ME THE WAY!
THIS is what he was looking for, not for people to get on here and start putting him down for working for his father. He had his story there first, not to be pathetic, but to show you why he doesn't like his current job, and to show you that he is not motivated to work there, and to also show that he wants out.

He is looking for suggestions on places to work where he can tune standalones, etc. He is not whining about working for his father. He is just saying that he feels he is not "being challenged" enough at his current job.

Here's an analogy. Some students in my school got to skip a grade. Why? Because teachers recognized potential. That potential becomes wasted when the students aren't challenged. If everything is too easy for them, they become bored and stagnant. When they are moved to a higher level, they become challenged, and thus, are kept interested and motivated to excel. The same applies to Franko here. He is saying that he feels his skills could much better be utilized than working where he is now.

So, the bashing of each other aside, will someone help him with his original question and offer some suggestions on where he can find places to work that involve cars?

Exactly!!!!! This is the smartest post thus far!!

He is asking advise on what kind of jobs he could get into, not for everyone to get on his case about working for his father. The part about him sleeping in and being late for work IMO has NOTHING to do with his question. He hates the job, big deal. I've gotten to know Franko pretty good over the past long while and I'm sure if he found a job he loved, he would make it a point to be on time, as would everyone.

So to answer your question Franko, I think any field of work you mentioned above is going to have alot of competition since you live in such a small place. Therefore may require schooling. My advise is to research other areas and job postings, and go from there. Im quite positive you would be able to find a job you like here in Ontario with ease, or very little schooling (under a year). Hell, Im only 20 and I get paid over $20/hour, get to make my own hours (because of school  ), and I get to make trips to the beach everyday in the summer and get paid for it  8)

If she was indeed 'driving home a point' as you say then there are many better ways to get that point across without offending the person. You cant really tell someone something that you know is going to piss them off then think its going be ok by just saing 'sorry' in the same post. You cant do that.. For example: If you know someone that is really overweight and they ask you for a recomendation of how to stay thin, instead of telling them something like "well you can get on this great diet that Ive heard about..." But YOU might say something like "Youre fat because youre lazy! Some people work hard to get in shape and you want to take the easy way by going on a diet? The first step would be to put down the fork! The second is to get your fat a-- to a gym and start working out.. Im sorry if Ive offended anyone but its just my impressions by what he said" There are much better ways to say what she said.. Then she says that she read my post and reworded it so it would sound different? Whats that all about? If this is the case you can basically twist anything anyone says around to make youre arguement work.
You must be under some weird impression as to how things are.. You say that I could easily help myself with this problem but its not that as easy as you think.
Grants thinks that I shouldent attack people for responding.. But I think it would be much more acceptable if she hadent attacked me for posting my situation.
As scooter and relisys said, I wanted to know what kind of plan you guys had and not be harrassed for my situation.. I know where I am right now.. I dont hate it with the eternal fires of hell or anything.. Its allright for the time being but am I supposed to work in the family business forever?
I did read my original post again and I can see how it can come off in a way I didnt intend. I wrote that in the heat of being upset so I couldent really put it togethor as good as it should have been.
I know I got it good now but Id like to be successful on my own doing something I love.. and thats what it comes down to.

The bottom line is too Franko that you are in an excellent position to get any move you make right the first time. You have the leeway to take your time, consider all the options (including a part time course if applicable) and research the possibilities - all with the reassurance that you have current employment so its not a "do or die" situation.

I hope you find something along the lines of what you want. Have you considered self employment? Do you have the facilities and resources to make that a viable option? Personally I find self employment the most gratifying and rewarding employment - but having said that, its also not easy and needs a lot of self dicipline.
