Idle Adjustment

Ok, so when I adjust the idle (by the screw on top), should I hear more air being drawn in...like a louder hiss the more I open it?

I dont know what hiss you are talking about but you should be able to tell by the sound of the engine/exhaust that the idle is higher or just look at the tach. Also put the car in diagnostic mode when you are adjusting the idle, otherwise the computer will pick up the idle change and automatically put it back to where it usually is.
