jschrauwen wrote:Spinkx79, I'm thinkin' that a spot like the Sunoco at the Thickson Rd cut-off from the 401 would be ideal. Bathrooms, gas, snacks, Timmies across the road, large enough parking lot. I found that the Fairview Mall wasn't exactly the most user friendly for the navigationally challenged. And trying to exit Fairview Mall as a group was a bit of a pain too.
There must be something similar to the Thickson Rd one that would be suitable. Where's all of the Oshawa, Pickering and Ajax peeps, they must be able to offer some help with this.
John,

Stouffville is only 25 min northwest from my house. Ill be taking back roads.

From Thickson Rd go [N]....turn left [W] on either Taunton Rd or Hwy 7 (they run parallel), Turn right [N] on Lakeridge Rd (Hwy23), turn left [W] on 9th Concession, turn right [N] on York/Durham Line (Hwy 30) and finally left [W] on Main St in Stoufville.

Theres a half decent flea market there on Sat and Sun, ill be stoppin in for some Kolbasa and Summer Sausage :D

Ian, I think you'll find that those places are just not an easily accessable and egressable places to use. Is there not one stinkin' soul in that city of 2.5 million that can lend a hand as to a suitable pre-meet spot that'll meet our needs. This is pretty discouraging with all of the GTA so called members that even if they weren't planning on attending they could at least offer some help in the way of directions or locale finding. This really bites.

There's a mall with a Tim Hortons on Erin Mills a block north of the QEW and several blocks south if you get off from the 403...that could be a possible meeting place, no?

i know, west-end meet at woodbridge timmies. easily accessible, ppl know where it is, and its not backtracking anywhere cuz we can always take hwy 7 over to the 404 and up. how's that sound ppl?

and day-of....call my cell 416-521-5562 if any issues. since the meeting place is in the air, we may end up w/ some ppl here and others there. so if u call then we can arrange things as we go.

we're looking to roll in between 11-12, so we should leave woodbridge between 10 - 10:30 at the lattest if we do woodbridge.

I like the idea of pre-meet places and still think that one final pre-meet place for those from all directions could rally. Brandon, you'll have to make the final call on this. Since there doesn't seem to be much input for the final meeting spot, I vote for the Fairview Mall. It's right off the 404/401 and although a little tricky to find exact entrance to use for the mall, staying on Shepherd Ave should work and enter near the Sears sign (I think). We can all leave from there. Although we would have to leave the parking lot to use bathrooms, get gas, snacks and the like, it's conveniantly locted due south of Stouffville. Departing Fairview Mall would mean getting back onto 404 North until the Stoufville exit and exit east to Stouffville. Always open to simpler solutions.

I dont know that area enough to make a 'final call' for a meeting spot. We can have 2 if people prefer because were all parking together anyways at the show arnt we? so if we have to roll in a couple groups no biggie. But' John I'm leaving it up to you for the final meeting spot for 1 of the groups and I'll just be there :)

well, since it is just a few days till MOM'05 and there's no posts about west-end ppl meeting up other than maybe niagara (i would havta go thru the thread again to b sure)....how about anyone who wants to cruise just call me (416-521-5562) and we'll set something up EARLY, otherwise i'll just see the east-end ppl at fairview. probably get there like 11 unless ppl actually do call to arrange something else.

Sorry, Shephard Ave. Those that have posted contact info have their ph#'s listed. This should be the final meeting spot prior to leaving as one large group to the meet. The London and Niagara people will decide on their own if they'll have their own smaller rally points before Fairview Mall. Directions from there will be straight forward - back onto 404 north to the Stouffville Exit and head east for a few km's. It might be a good time to update roll call list if required. As usuall there will be a certain amount of lurkers who know they will be going but for some reason are affraid or unwilling to post their true intentions ... to be expected. They're all welcomed, regardless of their fears.

No worries about parking together as we will have designated areas for each car model to park. Our logistics person has an MX-3 sign ready.

Don't forget this is a BBQ / BYOF ...

Rain or Shine, see yall on Saturday!!!
