Myths of UK Shopping

Post by NorfolkMx3 »

Hi All,

I have picked up from feedback about purchasing that we, over this side of the pond, dont have many, if any, dealers or suppliers for Body Kits or other mods.

Am I right?

I have search quite a bit on 'tinternet but found anything of real worth to be on the Americas side of the Atlantic.

Do you guys import all your gear?

What I am looking for is just general off the shelf stuff as I m still a bit apprehensive of taking a drill to my lovely nice car..

Any pointers to more "local" supplier greatly recieved.

Thanks

M
A day without sunshine is like, you know, night and a drive without my mx3 is like, you know, boring.

i got my kit from canada, spoiler from germany, lights from america, induction kit from america.....

Only bit i have bought from the uk, are my wheels and my exhaust. Which is a universal one!!!!

Problem with importing stuff in, is not only the high shipping rates, but customs sting you too!!!

But i think its worth every penny!!!

Tip 'DONT' get wheels from america, they are real nice but customs totally makes love to your a-- when they arrive here.

I got a CF hood from California, america, it was nice but the UK CF hoods are much stronger and ridged. You may have to find a CF company over here for that.

Wheels Miami, america (Now use an a-- tampon, due to Mr TAX and his ugly sister Miss VAT)

Lights I got from america, but you can get them from over here now. But it still works out cheeper getting them from ebay(America or Caneda)

Indego Guages America, not available over here I think.

Exhaust theres loads of places over here, either universal fit, or I got a custom one made, it sounds sweet.

I thought of what I would like to do next to my car then keped an eye on the forum it would be in. Theres always talk of whats the best sort of what, in there.

Also check out ebay all the time you get great deals on there.

yeah unfortunately the mx3 is one of the hardest cars to modify in the uk because there just aren't the suppliers out there.

You can import a kit from germany but it's just about the only kit that anyone uses. I have a set of side skirts you can buy off me if you want them? and rs has a modified rear bumper for sale.

You can import everything you need, it's just hard finding a company thats willing to ship over here.

i got:
-rear lights + rear spoiler > austria
-evo front > america
-side skirts * 2 > america + germany
-rear bumper > germany
-short shifter, uprated clutch, indiglow dials, carbon bezel,
-manifolds + downpipe > uk
-17" rims > uk
-exhaust > uk

+ other stuff can't remember

Search the internet!

I didn't think that there were any styling companies in Norway, but as it turns out, this one guy in the nearest town imports shitloads of Pakfeifer and many other brands! Just search and I'm sure something turns up! :D

There is one kit you can buy in the uk, they are the only uk based pakfifer dealer the link is below

http://www.evoperformance.co.uk/index.cfm

I got my indigo/reverse dials custom made from http://www.speedhut.com imported with no problems from the U.S takes a while to arrive but that is to be expected.

Im still looking for a mazdaspeed bodykit supplier in the uk, but im almost 100% sure there is none. :(
2.5 Ze straight neck, blitz intake, mazdaspeed engine mounts, fidenza flywheel, CM II Clutch, KL-36 ecu, Magnecor 8mm Leads, Battery Relocation. Hotshot headers, 2.5 mandrel bent stainless exhaust, hi-flow cat, Speed hut dials, custom coilover set up. Custom willwood big brake conversion.
