Am I the only one whos eyes are burning from that price? I don't even want projectors. I just want my lenses to be clear and stay that way. If you came up with just the lenses in a more durable (i.e. scratch and yellow resistant) plastic for $100, I'd be in like flint. But $900? That's my interior completely redone. That's a good paintjob with clearcoat. That's three hot Asian hookers in Vegas. For what? For headlights? I'm thinking what I'll eventually do is take my lenses to a plastics shop and have them buff them till they're crystal clear, then put those headlight protectors on: http://www.xpel.com/products/headlight.asp
Or s---! Buy some Euro spec glass lenses from someone in Europe and pay for those.

this is such a great idea, but it seems that, as of late, the gb's on here seem to fall through. i've talking to car people around here that i know and they all agree that $700 US is a really good price for custom made projector housings with the light housings and everything.
i would definitely get a set if this were to work out. this is a pratical mod for our cars that is badly needed. i hope this works out and anyone out there willing to go ahead, please step up cause we need the numbers.
thanks a lot tatsu.

I'd still rather have the Asian hookers. I honestly think my wife would understand the Asian hookers more than $900 headlights. And you can't find a paint job for $900? If you do all the body work and prep yourself, pretty much any shop should be able to do a primer/base/clear for $900.V8KOMX3 wrote:shoot You can get 3 asain hookers just for having these new lights put on the car and your money will work more than one time so in short lights are worth more in the long run. And if you know were to get a good paintjob 4 $900 let me know cuz I need one.
Just a quick update:
We have eight people interested at the moment, most in purchasing just the housings, but a couple interested in purchasing the whole kit, if and when it is produced.
I am waiting to hear back about starting the group buy in the appropriate forum - there were some issues with the e-mail address listed in the forum, so I e-mailed Jeff directly and am patiently waiting for a reply...

I would just like to say that it seems too many people have forgoten that they do not own a Honda Civic. Most of use bought these cars because we wanted to have something different. Well the down side to having something different is that it cost more to customize your car. I remember when the first altezza tail lights came out I bought a set for 450.00 because that was what it cost to be the first ones to have a set, now you can get a set for less than 100.00. I for one would be glad to pay just slightly more than the cost of a set of new factory headlights that are just going to fade on you again in a few years anyway. I will put my name in the hat for a set if you can get it going. Also I say go with the higher qaulity rather than cutting corners just to save a little bit.

Well said Woody. It's disheartening to hear those that throw a negative spin on such an endeavour. I've come to a rough conclusion of why or where it may stem from. There are those like myself who either live out in the country or in a very small town or village. These are the individuals who earnestly desire an optimum advantage over surrounding elements which in my mind is a very wise and practical thing to do. These are the same people who have come to appreciate the potential benefits of these light units after perhaps riding or seeing other cars with better quality or newer lighting systems or have encountered too many close calls of a fashion or other to be determined enough to find some means in improving their lighting situation. Then there's the other side of the coin who would like to have this "nice" , "unique" mod simply for those reasons. Why?, because perhaps they live in a much larger city or town where they could drive to almost everywhere they usually go and never turn their lights on and never really notice the difference because of their environment. I can't tell you how many times I've seen drivers in large cities driving with either their DRL's or no lights at all and never really new that their lights were off. Even had a relative of mine living in Toronto, who for the first year of driving her new Accord (last year) always thought her lights came on automatically and drove with only her DRL's. She did occasionally complain that her lights weren't very good but that was when she had to venture outside of the city. A strange way to explain but I think you catch my drift. So, depending on which side of the coin you reside on, at least have the decency and appreciation to understand and accept the good that's trying to be accomplished here.

I assume you emailed Jeff. Try PM'ing him as well. He is a very busy guy, so if you sent him email he will email you back soon. Also, he may have his filter turned on, that is why PM is a good option.tatsu wrote:Still no word back about setting up the group buy - if anyone can help in this regard, please do!
Cheers,

If you know about D2S's or H7's than you already know what those items normally cost and should appreciate that those price estimates for the units couldn't possibly include those type of lighting pieces. Although, a good set of Hella BiXenon's and a set of H7 high beam projectors as well would be an outstanding configuration.mx3optidrive wrote:I may be interested in just the housing unless it is the D2S or the H7 included with the housing. Either way, let me know what happens.

H7 high beams with an upgraded bulb such as Osram H7 65w running off a proper harness with Hella 90mm Bi-Xenons would be great. Hmmm, I have a set of Hella 90mm Bi-Xenons kicking around.......jschrauwen wrote:....a good set of Hella BiXenon's and a set of H7 high beam projectors as well would be an outstanding configuration.
