Help removing drive shafts

Post by jeffg »

I'm trying to pull out my engine but i'm having problems with the drive shafts. I've loosened the top of the struts and disconnected it from the control arms but i'm not able to pull it off. If anyone has any suggestions or would like to come to my place and help me out it would be appreciated. Thanks

The passanger side usually comes out easier, but will need to be pried out anyway. Lever the pry bar between the stub shaft and tranny. After it is out the drivers side can be knocked out through the tranny. Look into the axle hole in the tranny with a flashlight, you'll see a small metal bar going through the differential at an angle. Use a thin, but sturdy piece of metal (I use a long ratchet extension) place the ratchet extension over or under the metal rod and hit the other axle out. That easy...
