Clutch pedal Problems

Post by axopro »

Hi..
May be some of you could give me some clues about what is going on with my car..

It is manual transmision.. K8
The clutch pedal is going to the end very softly without causing any effect to the clutch... at least that i push it fast.
If i push fast, the pedal / clutch works ok.. and i can retain the pressure of the pedal by leaning my foot on it lets say 1/4 or less of going all the way down... (sorry about my english)
So.. i must always keep my foot leaning on the pedal at some point, or i will lose the pedal pressure and clutch...

I took a look to the mx-3 online shop manual.. and the master cylinder is shared with the brake .. so i guess that if the master cylinder would be the problem.. i would be having problems with my brake too right?... i do not have any problems with the brakes..

So what about the release cylinder?... "release" sounds like the pedal coming back to the original position.. and that is happening... so am i confused here?.. what does this release cylinder does?... and can this be my problem?..

Thanks...

you could try bleeding the clutch, but most likely need to replace the clutch master cyl and/or release cyl

Yeh... if i depress the pedal clutch it feels and works normal... but i have to do it fast.. like if i have to hurry and trap some liquid inside the pump or something... Sometimes it works normal though..
The clutch itself does not feel like slipping or not engaging... so i think the disc is fine..
