Post by misfitsfiend »

how does one hook up tweeters.... i got new alpine type s tweeters with my speakers... and it came with 2 cross over channels...

i hooked the tweeters up like regular speakers, to the stock audio cables.. and im getting tons of distortion and static and they even turn off and on sometimes... i wanted to know how im supposed to fix this problem.. and i want toknow what the cross over channels are for as well?

Oh no!! you will blow your tweeters hooking them up directly. They are not protected by low frequencies without the X-over. The midrange and the tweeter needs to be wired to te crossover and the crossover needs to be wired to the speaker cables.
