Im doing a klze swap, can I use an auto tranny kl31 ecu with a manual tranny?
Considering I have a manual tranny and wiring harness Im thinking not.

Well, I can tell you that the North American v6's use an auxiliary piggyback computer for the ATX control, in conjunction with the standard ECU. It is the same between ATX and MTX models. The ATX models use the EC-AT, ET-CM, TCM (so many different names, but its all the same thing) for the operation of the ATX. Only 4 wires are shared between the ECU and the TCM (transaxle control module), so bypassing it for the ATX-MTX swap is simple. My guess is that if you have an ECU from an ATX japanese spec car, you'll probably be ok. I'd be willing to bet that it's the same ECU between the ATX and MTX models. If you wanted to use an ATX in an MTX car (god forbid
), then you're going to need to use the ATX wiring harness to avoid big headaches.
Anyone have any hard evidence to back me up?
good luck!

Just to clarify...
The seller had a kl31, and kl36 listed. He had stated that both were from auto tranny mx6's.
He has since reposted the kl31 as being from a standard.
Thank you for all the info.
I cant recall the name but I know theres a Canadian on this board who can get jdm ecu's, is that you rick?
I need a hookup!

Rick does bring in Jpec Ecu's
I belive if you do some seacrhing on the BB you will find to use a
KL36 on a Automatic loom you just have to fool the park/drive senor
wiring in the loom, when using it with a mannual transmittion.
