Klze Speed limiter Need help

Post by wheelmanmx3 »

The wiring harness from my 1992 GS harness does not match the colors of the wiring diagram that was given on the site. I checked it and i cant find out the wire to cut to remove the speed limiter. If anyone has any idea on which wire to cut please let me know. I used the stock GS k8 harness on the ZE. Can anyone let me know please. Must go past 120 mph.
Its not about how fast it goes, but about how well you drive it when it goes fast.

The speed limiter is in the ECU, which ECU do you have?

Cut that wire :D It is coming out of the medium sized (22 wires) plug going into your ECU and the diagram is as if you were looking into the plugs on the ECU (wires are coming towards you).

I would cut it, but the color does not match the one that is on the diagram I have the same print out. Should i just cut the wire that matches the location of what is described in the diagram

Its normal that the colours dont match, but try cutting it and if it doesnt work, splice it back together lol

I am guessing that the location is the same for all Ecu's? Like for a KL31? I like the thought of going over 120 when I go to the track in September.

The color for K8 Harness up to '93 is Black/White. In '95 it changed to Violet/Red. Green/Red is KL harness color.
Re-shaped and re-sized gearshift lever. Best driveability mod you can do!

I don't think that this wire is the rev limiter...I believe that it is just a speed limiter...Not sure...So you would have to be going like 150 to blow it up but yeah, you could blow it up...if you plan on trying please post videos titled 150 Mph Detonation

Do you have a reprogramed ECU? My buddy has a corksport re-programed ECU and he has no rev-limiter or speed limiter. I am using a KL31 and Mine shuts the fuel off at 115.

ok so by cutting that line... that removes our speed limiter? It wont damage anything else? I mean I dont wanna blow it on purpose..but iut be nice to be able to go a bit faster with no speed limiter. Can someone confirm that by removing that line..my speed limiter will be gone?

From what I have been told by Black Magic, that's the pin, although I will cut my wire and not the pin. I've already confirmed the speed limiter a number of times with the KL31 ECU and it cuts out at about 185 kph.

Im going to try this on the k8.. I doubt the gearing will even let it go over 130 and well if it blows ill post pics :P of course this is in a "controlled" environment.. so dont go erasing my posts :P also I do not specify what a "controlled environment" is :P should be fun. I hope that by removing that wire I wont get a cel light or any side effects.
