93 Cronos 626 V6 Engine Into a 92 v6?
Just wondering if the engine out of the 93 Cronos 626 would fit in the 92 GS? If it does would it bolt up to the mx-3 transmission? Just had the transmission rebuilt in the MX-3. There is a 626 for sale here in town so I thought I would ask if it would fit. Also is this the 2.5 V6 in the Cronos or the 1.8? Thanks again.

You haven't mentioned the cost in purchasing the 626. Your looking at a car with probably the same wear and tear (maybe more), probably high mileage (maybe higher), an engine whose life expentancy is ????. Perhaps if your in the presence of mind to do an engine swap, you may want to consider acquiring a KLZE engine. There is a fairly recent post on this BB that shows an incredibly pristine ZE engine (which normally come between 30k, 50k or 70k km's on them). The cost of getting just the ZE engine as apposed to buying a substantially used 626 for the engine may prove very counter-productive and quite possibly a sorry waste of money. If doing an engine swap, it's usually better in the long term to do it right the first and avoid cutting corners by satisfying conveniance. Almost forgot, a few more ponnies in a ZE over a DE......zoom..zoom..zoom
