Aluminum Under/Heat Shield?

Post by Neil »

Hey guys,

I just thought of this as an idea tonight as the front passenger side heat shield/splash guard/engine guard thingy under the motor is missing off my car and i was thinking about maybe having a full aluminum one made, not a real thick heavy sheet or anything but light enough and thin enough that it would be able to hold up.. Do you guys think it would be worth it?

Depends on how much it costs.. might look pretty decent if you could polish it up nice.. but I would also replace the drivers side with the same sort of thing so that they would match.

that would be cool......... i had made a very thin stainless steel shield to cover my ac compressor.... of course aluminum is very light so it would be better :D

Well my dad is very close friends with the owner of a company called Milco Steel, they do all sorts of stuff with aluminum/steel/etc. They made me an Aluminum battery box for free. So i was gonna go down there and talk to them about the shield for both sides of under the engine. I just wanted to see what you guys thought and if it would be practical.
