Complete car for sale $300 93 RS

I bought this car from a buddy while mine was in the shop for suspension. I drove it a week and it developed rod knock. Pretty sure the main bearing is gone. Here is the details. Car is white and physically in great shape. Interior minus drivers seat and carpet are good. Blows cold ac, and 5 speed shifts perfect. Has chrome 15" wheels with good tires. Registration is paid until Jan 2006. I have title. I pulled the head and it looks great. Tops of pistons are scared (hence main bearing) Everything works. No power options and no sunroof. It is at my house. Bring $300 cash to Tracy, Ca and take it home. Found a motor in Fresno for $375. Not worth it to me to do all the work. KBB was $1500. This is a nice car for someone willing to do a motor swap.

Interested. How's the bumpers and hood? I'm not looking to get another MX on the road, since I have two. But my RS is white, and I would like to replace the bumpers and hood. I'm about 1.5 hours drive from Tracy. Will it need to be towed?

The hood and bumpers are good. Hell I think the only issue with the outside is some paint peeling on the hood. Its a CA car so no rust. If I wanted to keep the car here is what I would so.

Fix main bearing
replace carpet

The guy I bought this car from truthfully was a slob. He was the original owner though. It is not a parts car because I think its in great shape. Hell if you were on a budget and wanted it to just run. A nice deep cleaning and floormats would work. I am sure this thing has never been detailed. It is raining like a mother out here but I will get some pics.

I think I'll pass. If the hood is peeling, I wouldn't want that. Just for two bumpers, wouldn't be worth buying. This would be for parting, cause I have two working MX's already. If you change your mind, and part it out. Send me a holla.

Thats to funny. I can't believe a complete MX3 can't be sold on a board for $300. I went out there in the rain yesterday to wash off the bird s---. A neighbor stopped and asked what my plans were for the car and he ended up towing it last night. HAHA What pieces of s--- glad I never have to drive that thing again. Have fun guys. I seen some pretty nice cars here. The RS on the other hand is slower then my 97 Accord and that things a piece of s--- to.

It's because your trying to sell an RS. There's no power options and alot slower than the GS. If you had the GS, I would of bought it immediately.
I could of gone to PicknPull and got a 1.6 engine for $200, but I have two MX's, so I don't need another running car. Plus, there isn't alot of Mxer's on the forum, that's in California. But were slowly growing.

Good deal. Where could I have found a motor for $200? I looked and the best I could find was $375??? I didn't want this to sound like a bash, I just was alittle shocked. It truly was one of the cleaner I have seen. If I would have known $200 I might have fixxed it.

Picknpull. I've seen 5 RS's in 4 different ones in the Bay Area. I bought my 2.5 DE for my GS there. With core charge, and I paid an extra $50 to have it taken out.

How do you know if any of them work? The ones for $450 are the same ones for $200. Some places offer exchange policies. The car I got my DE from, was hit from the side. Real bad. That told me the engine wasn't the problem and the reason it was here, so I knew it was good.

DOHC 4cyl wasn't offered until the 94 model yr. Anything earlier w/factory 4 cyl. will be SOHC.
