First of all THANK YOU!! I recently purchased a 1993 MX-3, and that light and buzzer were getting ready to drive me nutso. I happened across this forum and saw that post, at least it was a post when I saw it. I immediately went out and took the pins out. THANK YOU!!
However.... (you had to know it was coming)..... instead of taking the front seat out, I took the three bolts holding the bracket of the control box off, undid the harness and pulled the box out.
It took me more time to get the pins out than the box.
Again, thanks...you saved my sanity.
